Exhibition: Sergei Tchoban Architectural Drawings

An afternoon lecture called Drawn Visions and book signing of the monograph Sergei Tchoban Architecture Drawings followed by an exhibition opening reception will take place at the A+D Architecture and Design Museum.

On Friday 27th of October at 4pm an afternoon lecture called Drawn Visions and book signing of the monograph Sergei Tchoban Architecture Drawings will take place at the A+D Architecture and Design Museum in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles. This lecture is concurrent with Sergei Tchoban Architectural Drawings exhibition opening reception at the AD Museum at 7pm. The exhibition presents design sketches, imaginary travel studies and architectural fantasies depicting the contrasty dialogue between the historical and contemporary architecture. The show is on view at the A+D Architecture and Design Museum until 8th of January 2018. 

The exhibition is curated by Dr. Dora Epstein Jones and Esenija Bannan

Sergei Tchoban is a Russian-German architect and draftsman, whose work has been recognized worldwide and is the founder of the Museum for Architectural Drawing in Berlin. 

Podium Discussion City Making: The View from Berlin and Los Angeles 

On Saturday 28th of October at 3:30pm a podium discussion called City-Making: the View from Berlin and Los Angeles will take place at the Villa Aurora with Sergei Tchoban from Berlin and Architect Farooq Ameen from Los Angeles, moderated by Dr. Peter Tokofsky, senior public program specialist at the J. Paul Getty Museum. The discussion will focus on the diversities and parallels in the urban landscapes of Berlin and Los Angeles. 

The event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the sister-city partnership between Berlin and Los Angeles.
